Testing Rooms
Series of rooms in The Institute used for candidate testing including bright white physical testing chambers with airchairs and adjacent locker rooms.
The Testing Rooms begin as the sterile, clinical proving grounds of The Institute in Red Rising, where Darrow and his fellow candidates undergo physical and psychological evaluations in bright white chambers equipped with airchairs and locker facilities. Though the rooms themselves remain largely unchanged in their physical form, their narrative significance deepens as they serve as the first crucible where alliances are forged, weaknesses are exposed, and the brutal meritocracy of the Golds is established. Across the series, these chambers evolve from mere testing facilities into symbolic spaces representing the rigid hierarchy and dehumanizing evaluation systems that Darrow seeks to dismantle.
