House Mars Standard begins as a mere ceremonial banner in the Institute's brutal training grounds, but quickly becomes the rallying symbol of Darrow's first rebellion against the Golds' hierarchy. Across the saga, the standard transforms from a student-house emblem into a broader icon of resistance, carried into the halls of power and onto the battlefields of the Solar War. Its evolution mirrors the series' shift from personal vengeance to systemic revolution, as the once-obscure sigil of a disgraced house is reborn as the standard of a new order.
