House Mars Wolf Fatigues begin as the unmistakable black-and-gold uniform of Darrow’s Institute house, their golden howling wolves marking the cadets who will one day shape the fate of the Society. Across later volumes the same sigil reappears on the armor of the rising Sons of Ares, transforming from a student emblem into a battlefield standard that rallies broken Reds and sympathetic Golds alike. By the final books the fatigues have become a symbol of fractured legacy—worn by both loyalists defending the old order and rebels tearing it down—illustrating how a single icon can be co-opted by opposing sides of an interstellar civil war.
