Jackal's Rib Armor

Jackal's Rib Armor first appears in Morning Star as a bespoke, gold-forged exoskeleton that shields the ArchGovernor's son from the physical consequences of his own treachery. Throughout the later volumes it becomes a symbol of the Jackal's refusal to accept mortality, its rib-like plating a literal cage that keeps a broken body—and a fractured mind—alive long after the Republic believes him dead. When the armor is finally breached, its destruction marks both the end of the Jackal's personal reign and the symbolic collapse of the old regime's obsession with invulnerability.
