Kuon Hounds debut in Iron Gold as genetically engineered insectoid-canid hybrids bred by the Republic for high-risk reconnaissance and urban pacification. Their chitinous black shells, translucent spines, and compound eyes mark them as purpose-built predators designed to hunt in the labyrinthine ruins of post-war Luna and the outer Rim. As the series progresses, these creatures evolve from mere tools of state control into symbols of the Republic’s moral compromises, their deployment blurring the line between security and terror.
