Romulus au Raa's signature hasta first appears in Iron Gold as a two-meter black lance whose silver-etched shaft and dissemblable casing mark it as both heirloom and weapon. Throughout the series the weapon evolves from a ceremonial relic of the Rim Dominion into a symbol of Romulus's personal authority and later a contested trophy whose fate mirrors the shifting fortunes of the Raa family. Its rigid, non-collapsible design distinguishes it from the fluid razors of the Core, underscoring the cultural divide between Rim and Inner worlds.
