Sefi's Axe first appears in Morning Star as a massive, single-bladed obsidian weapon that embodies the brutal martial culture of the Obsidians. Throughout the series, the axe evolves from a simple executioner's tool into a symbol of Sefi's rising authority and the Obsidians' transformation from enslaved warriors to a sovereign people. Its presence marks pivotal moments of violence, liberation, and political realignment, reflecting the broader arc of the Rising's impact on peripheral societies.
