This young sun dragon is smaller than expected, but its jeweled scales catch the light with an almost precious brilliance. Its nearly human eyes and the weak curl of flame from its nostrils make its captivity feel all the more unsettling.

The young Carthian sun dragon is encountered aboard ship, far smaller than expected and subdued by its confinement. Its jeweled scales, bright almost-human eyes, torn wing, and rune-engraved collar reveal both its strange beauty and its suffering. Chained to the wall and seasick, it becomes the focus of a trade, its fate discussed even when it is not present.
Description
About the size of a horse, the young dragon is armored in jeweled scales that glitter in lamplight. Stubby horns rise from its head, and its brilliant eyes have an almost human quality; wicked claws tip all four feet, while a thin trickle of flame escapes its nostrils. One wing is folded tight and the other droops, torn. A heavy collar engraved with runes is fastened to a chain, around which its tail coils; it looks listless and seasick.
