Will Hamlet feels as solid and familiar as the inn he tends: an old tree in an apron, rooted among the daily rhythms of the Lady of Grace. His lined face and bright white hair suggest years of watching people come and go, while the keys at his belt mark him as keeper of the place.

Will begins as the sturdy, white-haired innkeeper of the Lady of Grace, a familiar figure behind the bar with his keys at his belt. When Clermont confronts him about his daughter, fear drains the color from his face, but Will answers the danger with a desperate, resolute act. He drives himself onto Clermont’s blade, pressing forward until his strength gives way and he sinks to the floor.
