Derethil appears in Hoid’s story as a tall, regal king, remembered for his fair skin and even fairer eyes. A commander of thousands, he embodies the scale and authority of the legend in which he is invoked. The book gives no further personal history or transformation for him.
Description
Derethil is tall, with a regal bearing and fair skin. His eyes are described as fairer still, giving his gaze a striking, pale brightness. The text does not establish his hair, facial features, build beyond his height, or specific clothing; his defining visual impression is stately command.
