Lamaril
Also known as Brightlord Lamaril
- Supporting
- First seen · Book 1 · Ch. 7
Lamaril has the hard-edged look of a man who expects obedience: sharp features, a severe rectangular beard, and a forest-green cloak that lends his slim frame a formal, imposing line. His scowl makes even ornate finery seem less like display than armor.

Lamaril begins as a name among the lighteyed nobility and becomes a direct obstacle to Kaladin’s efforts to care for wounded bridgemen. As Kaladin’s superior, he refuses to allow the injured men back to camp, reports Kaladin’s actions to Sadeas, and means to have him strung up. He later appears among reserve spearmen, a tall, severe nobleman whose authority is expressed as sharply as his features.
Description
Lamaril is tall and slim, with the lighteyes’ privileged status, sharp features, and a distinctly rectangular face framed by a rectangular beard. He wears ornate noble clothing and a forest-green cloak, carrying himself with the stiff severity of a man accustomed to command. His scowl and angular, carefully groomed appearance make him seem severe even in formal dress.
