Once a deserter, Vathah becomes one of Shallan’s Lightweavers and proves to be the group’s most naturally talented at the art, even using it to make himself seem larger and more imposing in sparring. He is put to practical work as readily as magical work, from checking on peakspren sailors to scrubbing a deck with a long pole and brush. His rough exterior remains part of him, but service and skill give that unruly presence a new purpose.
Description
Vathah is a rough-looking man with messy hair and a face that is never properly shaved yet never bears a full beard. He favors practical work clothing, including a jacket he often leaves undone, and carries himself with a blunt, somewhat brutish solidity. His usual appearance is unpolished and work-worn, more suited to a deck and scrub brush than to courtly finery.
