Hirluin the Fair comes from the Green Hills with a company whose green clothing seems to carry the color of their homeland into the gathering host. His title and his men’s gallant bearing lend him the bright, poised presence of a lord arriving from a far edge of the world.

Hirluin the Fair comes from Pinnath Gelin, the Green Hills, leading three hundred men clad in green. He rides east to aid Éomer, and never returns to his homeland: he and his brother Duilin are trampled to death while assailing the mûmakil. His brief story is one of distant loyalty answered at terrible cost.
Description
Hirluin is identified as a lord of Pinnath Gelin, called the Green Hills, and the text gives no specific description of his individual face, complexion, hair, eyes, or build. The clearest visual detail is the green-clad company of three hundred gallant men who accompany him. His title, “the Fair,” offers no further concrete physical features, so his portrait should not impose particular coloring or facial traits.
