Bagshot Row

roadhobbit smials

Row of hobbit-holes in Hobbiton damaged by Saruman's men. Later rebuilt more beautifully as New Row, though Sharkey's End remained a ruin.

Bagshot Row, a quaint row of hobbit-holes in Hobbiton, suffers devastating destruction during Saruman's tyrannical occupation in The Return of the King, symbolizing the Scouring of the Shire's widespread ruin. Its residents, including the Gamgees, are displaced amid the despoilation by ruffians. Post-restoration, it is rebuilt as the splendid New Row, though the scarred Sharkey's End stands as a haunting reminder of the dark times.
