Chanelle makes authority look effortless: angular-faced and dark-skinned, she carries herself with the certainty of someone accustomed to being heard. Bright silk, glinting medallions, and the faintly fragrant incense box turn her into a vivid, difficult-to-ignore presence.

Chanelle is a Windfinder of the Sea Folk, a woman of strong presence whose authority shows in both her bearing and her richly adorned dress. She accompanies Zaida when Zaida departs, serving as part of the formidable company around her. Though the text gives only a brief glimpse of her, Chanelle leaves a sharply defined impression of discipline, rank, and confidence.
Description
Chanelle has dark skin and an angular face, with tattoos covering her arms. She goes barefoot and wears a vivid blouse with silk-and-brocade trousers, red brocade drawn over her knees, and a white shawl. A chain of honor bearing numerous medallions marks her rank, while a perforated incense box near her nose adds an unusual personal detail. Her bearing is commanding and assured.
