He has the unvarnished look of a man more accustomed to fields than ceremony, and even his black uniform cannot quite disguise it. There is a sturdy, sleepy candor to him, as if the world’s demands have caught him between one yawn and the next.

Grady is a country farmer who has become an Asha’man, carrying the plain, practical bearing of his former life into the black coat of the order. In Perrin’s camp he serves as one of the men able to channel, and his strength with gateways makes him valuable when urgent journeys and burdensome tasks must be managed. Though far from polished or grand, he proves a dependable ally amid the camp’s strain.
Description
Grady is a stout, thickset man with a weather-beaten, peasant face and short, sturdy fingers. His features have the blunt, unadorned quality of a farmer’s, and his expression often seems drowsy or worn. He wears the black coat of an Asha’man, its high collar fastened with a silver pin shaped like a sword, and carries a long sword at his belt. His practical, heavy-set presence makes the formal uniform seem almost incidental.
