Under the brim of his broad hat, Elyas’s golden eyes catch the light with an unsettling, almost animal brightness. His long, graying hair and fan-shaped beard belong to a man weathered by the wild, while his stillness suggests he notices far more than he chooses to say.

Elyas Machera is a seasoned woodsman and Wolfbrother, moving through the winter wilderness with the instincts of someone at home among its dangers. He guides and shelters Perrin, whose own connection to wolves makes Elyas a hard-won mentor and a mirror of what that path may demand. His wary wisdom and fierce independence shape their time together, even as the burden of his own nature keeps him apart from ordinary company.
Description
Elyas is a mature, rugged man with a lean face that can look deeply drawn by fatigue. His long hair, streaked with gray, reaches his waist and is tied back with a leather cord; a thick, graying beard spreads fanwise across his chest. His eyes shine a striking golden yellow beneath the brim of a broad hat. He wears a fur-lined cloak and carries himself with the watchful, self-contained ease of a woodsman.
