His dark eyes watch from beneath fair hair with a wary, wolfish brightness, while a rough week’s stubble keeps him from looking fully grown into his own sharpness. He has the alert quiet of someone who trusts observation more than comfort, and whose calm can feel more dangerous than anger.

Karldin Manfor is a young Asha’man whose life among the Asha’man becomes precarious when Taim names him among the deserters. Traveling with Loial, he keeps away from the steddings, sleeping outside so he will not lose his connection to the Source. His guarded, wolf-eyed manner suits a man caught between loyalty, danger, and the need to stay close to the One Power.
Description
Karldin is young and fair-haired, with dark, watchful eyes that flash with a distinctly wolfish expression. A week’s growth of stubble roughens his face, adding a hardened edge to his youth. He is dressed for the road in a rumpled brown jacket, with a long sword at his belt and a pack carrying a rolled blanket. His alert posture and cool, guarded gaze give him the presence of a capable warrior always measuring his surroundings.
