This is a horse who seems to feel the world before it arrives: ears twitching, muscles ready, breath clouding the cold air. Beneath his sturdy calm is a keen wariness, matched by an unmistakable attentiveness to his rider.

Stepper is Perrin Aybara’s stout, dependable warhorse, carrying him through harsh weather and dangerous country with steady strength. He responds sharply to strange scents and unsettling surroundings, but remains close to Perrin through the journey. His loyalty is expressed in the quiet language of a horse: a ready stride, a watchful ear, and an instinctive answer to his rider’s mood.
Description
Stepper is a strong, compact warhorse with a dense mouse-gray coat, his coloring dark and subdued against snow. His sturdy frame and sure legs suggest endurance rather than speed, though he can gallop powerfully when pressed. He wears practical riding tack and carries himself with alert sensitivity, ears and nostrils quick to register every unfamiliar presence.
