Setalle Anan has the ease of a woman who knows exactly how much a room can be asked to give her. Gold hoops flash at her ears, knives rest close at hand, and her warm hazel eyes soften none of her formidable, queenly poise.

Setalle Anan is a former innkeeper whose regal manner and practical readiness make her an unmistakable presence. Her Ebou Dari dress and the knives she wears speak to custom as much as to confidence, while her hospitality gives her a place in the daily life of the city. She is remembered as the former mistress of the Wandering Woman, a woman whose authority feels earned rather than borrowed.
Description
Setalle Anan is a mature, stately woman, with graying strands in her hair and expressive hazel eyes. Large gold rings frame her face, while a silver chain at her neck carries a marriage knife whose hilt is set with red and white stones. She wears an Ebou Dari dress with a narrow neckline and a side-slit skirt revealing a yellow underskirt; a long, curved knife sits at her belt. Her composed, regal presence is balanced by the practical readiness of someone who keeps a blade close.
