She is beautiful in the way a jewel-encrusted blade is beautiful: polished, dazzling, and difficult to trust. Her pale green gaze lingers with unmistakable appetite, while silk and gemstones announce that she expects the world to notice—and yield.

Sevanna Anan is a high-ranking Wise One whose hunger for authority and luxury shapes her dealings with those around her. After the death of the clan chief, she maneuvers to hold power among the Shaido and pursues means to strengthen her position, including an alliance with the captive Aes Sedai. Her ambitions draw her into the use of an angreal and a dangerous bargain with the mysterious Asha’man Caddar. She emerges as a ruthless, calculating force, though the power she tries to command is never fully hers to control.
Description
Sevanna is tall and slender, with skin darkened by a deep Aiel tan, fine golden hair, and light green eyes. Her full lips have a distinctly avaricious cast, lending even her beauty a hard, grasping edge. She dresses in a white silk blouse and dark gray silk skirt-trousers, with a crimson-and-gold silk scarf and red boots. Gemstones cover her hands and neck: rings on every finger, a huge emerald on her right hand, and massive pearl, diamond, emerald, sapphire, and ruby necklaces and bracelets. She carries herself with polished poise and the expectant confidence of someone accustomed to being indulged.
