The Dark One is less a person than a pressure at the edge of the world: a name that makes ordinary dangers feel suddenly small. Even unseen, this ancient presence seems to drain warmth and light from the air.

The Dark One stands as the primordial enemy imprisoned beyond the world, yet the Shadow's influence reaches into the lives of those who serve or resist it. Its name gathers the dread of the coming Last Battle, and its power is associated with the Shadowspawn and other horrors that trouble the land. When given monstrous form, it appears as a towering, eyeless figure in dark, scaled armor, then as light-devouring blackness stripped of that armor. It remains an immense adversary rather than a human character, its struggle with the forces of the Light shaping the fate of the world.
Description
When manifested, the Dark One is described as a towering, inhuman figure with a deathly white face and no eyes. Its black armor has a scaled, serpentine texture, and its immense stature makes ordinary bodies seem insignificant beside it. In another aspect, it wears black robes that appear to swallow the light around them. Its presence is cold, oppressive, and unmistakably not human.
