The Calanmai Bonfire Hills begin as a distant, atmospheric backdrop to the Spring Court's rituals in the first book, their smoke and magic serving as a sensory introduction to Prythian's seasonal magic. Though they receive no further direct mention in subsequent volumes, their significance grows retrospectively as readers understand Calanmai's role in faerie power dynamics and mating bonds. The hills transform from mere setting into a symbolic threshold where mortal and faerie worlds first intersect through firelit rites.
