There is a plain, dependable solidity to Tolya, a man shaped by ordinary work and an extraordinary gaze. His intensity can feel unsettling, yet a quiet tenderness sits close beneath it, ready to surface when something small needs care.

As a five-year-old, Tolya Klyukvin is remembered as a child whose baby teeth have fallen out. Thirty years later, he is a sturdy man working at a meat-processing plant, with the uncanny ability to turn meat into mince simply by looking at it. That strange power marks him out, but his final act is one of gentleness: he binds the wound of a little squirrel. In Tolya, the grotesque and the tender occupy the same unassuming life.
Description
Tolya is a sturdy man of about thirty-five, with the solid, practical build of someone accustomed to physical work. His face and coloring are not described in detail, and no particular hairstyle or eye color is established; what stands out is the concentrated quality of his gaze. He wears straightforward work clothes appropriate to a meat-processing plant, without any specified distinctive accessories. His overall presence is grounded and unassuming, softened by an unexpectedly careful manner.
