The Trackless Sea is the vast western ocean of Cradle, an endless slate-gray expanse stretching over seemingly bottomless black depths. First glimpsed in Unsouled as a sight of overwhelming scale, it is later revealed in Underlord to cover roughly half the known world and to be home to powerful ocean tribes. Its threat to the mainland is made concrete by the great wall of the Kotai clan, which stands guard along the western coast of the Blackflame Empire against whatever rises from the waves.
