Burrich
- Major
- First seen · Book 1
He moves with the coiled power of a stallion barely reined, dark eyes missing nothing in stall or paddock. His voice rumbles low, commanding respect from man and beast alike, carrying the earthy scent of hay and honest sweat. You feel the unyielding loyalty in his every glance, fierce as a wolf's.

Burrich begins as the stablemaster who takes in young Fitz, raising him with tough love amid horses and hounds, his own leg scarred from a forge accident that left him one-legged in spirit if not fact. He becomes Fitz's surrogate father, clashing over the boy's royal blood and Wit, while dragging Galen at the Witness Stones in defense of his charge. His unhealed wounds and battered clothes mark his fierce protection of the Farseer bastard, forging an enduring bond through trials.
Description
Dark face and eyes, sturdy stablemaster build, limps slightly but strong and iron-muscled when roused. A compact, fit, strong man with unruly dark hair, brown eyes, and a curling beard that gradually shows grey. His angular, narrow, weathered face has ruddy cheeks and nose. A ropy scar twists his injured leg, leaving him with a noticeable limp, especially in cold weather. He commonly wears practical stablemaster clothes, such as a shirt, trousers, and leather jerkin.
