Abgarus, also known as Abgar V, was the last king of Edessa, whose dominions were reduced to a Roman province. He is remembered for his legendary correspondence with Christ and for his city's failed attempts to preserve its independence through religious artifacts. His life ended in chains, sent to Rome as a captive.
Description
Abgarus is a middle-aged Middle Eastern king with olive skin, a dark beard, and regal features. He is depicted in chains, his posture dignified despite his captivity. He wears the remnants of royal attire, and his expression is both proud and resigned.
