Khalid ibn al-Walid, known as the Sword of God, began as one of the fiercest warriors of the Koreish tribe, leading their right wing of cavalry against the early Muslim forces. After converting to Islam, he became one of the most successful military commanders in Arabian history, rescuing the falling standard at the Battle of Muta where he broke nine swords in his hand, and later leading campaigns at Bosra, Damascus, and Aiznadin. His tactical brilliance and personal valor earned him command of Arab forces, though he was eventually removed from command by Omar.
Description
A powerfully built Arabian warrior with sun-darkened skin and intense dark eyes, marked by the distinctive features of a desert fighter. He carries the black eagle standard and wears the traditional military attire of an Arab cavalry commander, with the restless bearing of a man who has broken nine swords in battle and weeps during combat.
