His presence carries the gentle authority of age and wisdom, as if power has taught him that true strength lies in restraint. There's something almost reluctant about his imperial bearing, suggesting a man who accepted rule as duty rather than ambition.

Nerva ruled as emperor in his feeble age, his mild disposition earning the respect of the good while the degenerate Romans yearned for more vigorous leadership. He demonstrated his wisdom by allowing Atticus to keep discovered treasure and by adopting Trajan, then about forty years of age, as his successor. His brief reign marked the transition from the chaos of the Year of the Four Emperors to the stability of the Five Good Emperors.
Description
An elderly Roman emperor whose feeble age is evident in his white hair and beard, yet whose mild features suggest a gentle disposition that has earned respect rather than fear. He wears the imperial robes with quiet dignity, his soft eyes holding the wisdom of one who has witnessed both the heights and depths of Roman power. His bearing is unassuming, carrying authority without the need to display it.
