There's a feverish quality to his presence, as if he's playing a role that was never meant to last. The imperial purple sits uneasily on shoulders too young to bear its weight, and his eyes hold the wildness of someone who knows his time is measured in days.

Nepotian, son of Princess Eutropia and nephew of Constantine, seized Rome with a force of armed slaves and gladiators in a desperate bid for power. His twenty-eight day reign ended in violence when he was killed along with his mother during the subsequent proscription. His brief usurpation represents the chaos that followed Constantine's death and the bloody struggles for succession.

Description

A young Roman nobleman barely into his twenties, his features bearing the stamp of both imperial blood and desperate ambition. Dark hair frames a face marked by the rash energy of youth, and though he briefly wore the purple, his bearing suggests someone playing at power rather than possessing it naturally. His clothing mixes noble finery with the practical needs of a man who must fight to maintain his precarious position.
