Paul of Cilicia emerged from the rigorous military training established by Belisarius, one of four hundred men who chose to make their stand at the mole of Hadrian. His service represented the last generation of soldiers who had learned warfare under the greatest Byzantine general of his age. When the moment came, he led his men to this final defensive position with the tactical knowledge passed down from Belisarius's campaigns.
Description
Paul of Cilicia has the weathered olive skin and muscular build of a career soldier, his short dark hair showing the practical cut of military life. His face bears the marks of campaigns across the Mediterranean world, with strong features that reflect his Cilician origins. He wears the leather armor and carries the sword of a Byzantine soldier trained in Belisarius's methods, his bearing military and purposeful.
