Demid is one of the people Venli might have sought out, and his willingness to listen makes him a source of comfort. He is described as the first and most eager to hear her, offering compliments and resting a hand on her shoulder in a gesture that helps her feel stronger and braver. He is also among those who know what Venli did, linking his kindness to a more complicated understanding of her. The book gives no further account of his appearance or ultimate path.
Description
Demid is identified as male, but the text offers no details about his height, build, skin, hair, eyes, face, or clothing. His most distinctive visual impression comes from attentive body language: an open, listening presence and a hand resting gently on Venli’s shoulder. Avoid assigning him a specific look or style not established by the text.
