Venli begins as a Listener whose hunger for discovery helps steer her people toward catastrophe, leaving her the Last Listener amid the world that follows. Serving among the singers, she is caught between the power and expectations of the forces around her and the quieter counsels of Timbre, the spren in her gemheart. Her path turns toward the enslaved singers she once helped endanger, and she begins to claim responsibility for them rather than surrender to the past. By swearing the First Ideal, she becomes a Radiant who draws on Voidlight, choosing a difficult new purpose as the Voice of a people seeking their own future.

Description

Venli is tall and slender, with a willowy, regal bearing. Long orange-red hairstrands frame her face, where delicate carapace traces her cheeks; ridges mark the backs of her hands, and her skin carries the distinctive patterns of a singer. She commonly wears practical travel leathers suited to difficult terrain and battle, and is often associated with a staff or scepter. Her expression and posture tend toward composed watchfulness, giving her elegance a guarded edge.
