Perrin Aybara’s life begins far from lordly ceremony, in the forge and fields of the Two Rivers. His growing bond with the wolves and his love for Faile lead him into dangers that demand he become a protector and leader. Though he is named Lord of the Two Rivers and commands others, he remains the thoughtful smith who would rather make than destroy. His journey is a hard-won reconciliation between gentleness and the formidable strength others need from him.

Perrin is tall and massively built, with a broad chest and shoulders that give him the sturdy appearance of a working smith. His golden eyes are his most striking feature, set in a broad, serious face that rarely looks entirely at ease in formal company. He wears a dark green silk riding coat worked with silver embroidery, its elegance contrasting with his practical, grounded bearing.
