Rolan has the immense, still presence of a mountain made human, yet his manner is quiet rather than imposing. He watches closely, speaks softly, and lets a rare smile feel like a small warmth in a guarded world.

Rolan is a tall Aiel warrior of the Mera'din, the people called the Brotherless, whose physical strength is matched by a striking gentleness of manner. He appears as a calm, attentive presence, speaking in a low voice and smiling only rarely. In a moment of practical kindness, he brings braziers of coals and eases Faile's cramped muscles, revealing a tenderness beneath his formidable frame.
Description
Rolan is exceptionally tall, only a hand shorter than the seven-foot Nadric, and nearly as broad through the shoulders. His powerful build is dressed in the practical cadin'sor worn by Aiel warriors. No particular hair color, eye color, complexion, or facial features are given. He has a calm, observant air, and his infrequent smile softens an otherwise imposing presence.
