Count Heraclian began as a seemingly faithful military commander, appearing at Ravenna with warrants of execution and maintaining allegiance to imperial authority in Africa. His career took a dramatic turn when he transformed from oppressor of Roman refugees to leader of a massive naval rebellion, ultimately meeting his end by beheading after his failed attempt to seize power.
Description
Heraclian presents the image of a hardened Roman military commander, with a stocky, powerful build and weathered features marked by years of campaign. His close-cropped dark hair shows touches of gray, and his calculating eyes suggest both competence and ambition. He wears the practical armor and cloak of a late Roman count, carrying himself with the authoritative presence of one who expects obedience.
