Eshonai is a Listener general whose journeys among humans awaken her fascination with their creations and the wider world. Her sister Venli admires her natural selflessness, even as Eshonai’s curiosity carries her far from home with maps, ink, and a finely made hunting knife. She later adopts warform, her body covered in carapace, and bears the dangers of leadership in a changing world. Her story becomes inseparable from the choices and consequences that shape her people’s fate.

Description

Eshonai’s Listener body is covered in carapace, with ridges along her hands, thick, meaty fingers, and a solid carapace skullcap; she has no hair strands. Her appearance is described in different contexts, including Shardplate, but her precise height, skin coloring, eyes, and facial features are not specified. At times she carries a map made of precious paper and a hunting knife with beautiful metal and a carved hilt. Her overall impression is capable and exploratory, with a sturdy, distinctly carapaced silhouette.
